DISCOVER ONE OF EUROPE’S MOST BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS FAIRS IN BEAUTIFUL OLD GDAŃSK!

The Gdańsk Christmas Fair is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Poland. Its fairy-tale Christmas atmosphere captivates the people of the Tri-City Area and visitors alike.

Starting on 24 November, a unique orchestra of unequalled scents, flavours, sounds and colours will play in Gdańsk at Targ Węglowy (Coal Market).

The atmosphere of joy, love and Christmas magic will play the main part in the scenery of the Fair. This special time, full of charm and friendly moments, will continue until 23 December.

The amazing ambience of the Christmas Fair is mostly created by its unique and mood-setting scenery. The Three Wise Men, angels and saints look at you from Angel Mill, high above. You can ride a horse or take a spin on a fabulous Venetian carousel or find a moment of solace at the Holy Family Shrine.

During the Fair, the streets of the historic heart of Gdańsk will turn into a Christmas town. Yuletide decorations, stalls with remarkable products and an extensive artistic program will ensure that everyone will find something for themselves here. The event is created for all fans of the Christmas atmosphere, both those who are on their own and those who are looking for family attractions!

The Fair will feature 155 stalls with unique gifts, decorations and treats. There will be regional products based on carefully preserved family recipes: unique handicrafts, home decorations, natural cosmetics, warm winter accessories and spices to keep you warm.

After a long break, the Fair will return to the historic interiors of the Great Armoury, home to the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts. If you appreciate the value and beauty of artistic handicrafts, you will have plenty to choose from, as the offering will be incredible!

Gourmets who visit the Fair will find delicacies from around the world. You can try dishes from Italy, Hungary, Spain, Mexico and Thailand. The cold Polish winter is but a breeze when, within your arm’s reach, you have hot chocolate, perfectly selected tea blends and, if you’re of age, mulled wine with aromatic spices. Warming drinks taste best in the Christmas Fair collector’s mug, each year in a different design. You can buy your mug and take it home as a souvenir.

True to the motto of this edition, Let the Sound of Christmas Ring, the Fair will have music concerts, choral performances and carolling together. The all-pervading Christmas music is sure to get you in the festive mood.

The youngest visitors look forward to meeting Santa the most. This year, he promised to visit the Fair very often indeed! As a memento of meeting him, everyone will get a postcard with an inscription: Do not lose your faith in me, big or small though you may be. And if you’re lucky, you can also meet winter elves, Gdańsk angels and even the Snow Queen.

Lucky the Moose is the undisputed star of the Fair: everybody likes him, and he speaks in a human voice! He has entertained visitors to the Christmas Fair for several years now, with his popularity always on the rise.

The calendar at the Advent Gate is a special highlight of the Gdańsk Fair. Every day from 1 to 23 December, the soldiers of the Gdańsk Garrison open new windows to the delight of those with a sweet tooth.

A visit to the Christmas Fair is a must for many Gdańsk locals in the run-up to Christmas. In such atmospheric surroundings, to the sound of carolling, you can’t help but feel the togetherness and warmth of the approaching holiday. The Christmas Fair definitely plays the main part in Gdańsk!
